To laud the seminal USBM project WEAKLING, Grst has prepared a tribute.
"Fire Therein" is an EP comprised of two tracks: a faithful interpretation of Weakling's magnum opus "Dead as Dreams," preceded by an equally close fitting reproduction of "Cut Their Grain and Place Fire Therein," from which this submission takes its name. The half-hour EP represents the product of long labor on the part of Joshua K. Vincent.
Final drum, guitar, and keyboard tracks were engineered by Vincent and feature the additional guitar work of Nathanael Kelley (Aesthetic of Failure, Arkhum, Banewreaker), while the vocal performance was delivered by Kenneth Parker (Arkhum, Willowbrook). Vocals, mixing, and mastering were engineered by S. Parker in The Wilderness.
Recorded in the fall of 2013 and the spring of 2014.
